Was the nuber of the beast in revelation changed to hide the true name of the beast?

I get your drift, too, and I think you need to get outside in the fresh air more. Or at least read more than just Revelation. To get this wrapped up in eschatology to the exclusion of the rest of Scripture is itself unscriptural. See Matthew 6:25-34, particularly that last verse.
